My doctoral research project examined the dynamics of political participation based on immersive fieldwork conducted over several years in South Africa. I'm broadly interested in youth activism (or apathy), populism, and opposition party growth, and my postdoctoral project at the University of the Witwatersrand will examine these topics comparatively during the 2024 elections in Namibia and South Africa.
